Spanish Wells June 2023

After several months of prodding we finally talked Pat and Melissa into joining us on our fourth trip to Spanish Wells.

As usual, I spent several days fretting about the weather for the flight down there. We headed out a day early to get a head start and spent one night at St Simons Island. Other than Steve having me tell him when I see the runway as we descended out of some nasty clouds it was uneventful.

We took off early for Eleuthera and made it to around Daytona when ATC asked if we wanted to go West or East out over the ocean to avoid weather. Steve chose the ocean and we doned our life jackets and did a Tour de Atlantic Ocean via the Bermuda Triangle. I was happy to finally see Abaco below, not our normal path to North Eleuthera, but I’ll take it. We flew over Lubbers and tipped a wing.
